The Effect of Lever Arm Length on Torque and Mechanical Efficiency: A Review
Abstract: This review aims to investigate the influence of the lever arm length on torque amplification and mechanical efficiency by analyzing previous studies. It explores the physical principles governing lever systems, including torque, mechanical advantage, energy efficiency, the equations governing these concepts, and their applications in mechanical engineering and biomechanics. It also outlines practical design considerations, the limitations caused by friction and structural deformations as well as recent advances in computational optimization.
Keywords: levers, lever arm length, torque, mechanical efficiency, mechanical advantage, biomechanics, force amplification
